Do you know where your coffee has been?

Location, Altitude, Soil, Sun/Shade Grown, Fertilization, Rainfall, Harvesting Method, Natural Processed, Water Processed, Drying Method, Storage, Transportation, Roasting all matter!!  Dixie’s engages with the farms and co-ops, to bring the best coffees found throughout the world to you. We store the beans, fresh from crop, in non-bleached cotton bags. We only buy enough beans to get us to the next crop cycle and we roast the beans weekly. Giving our customer’s the highest quality and freshest coffee available!

We’re knowledgeable about the farms and farming practices used to grow our coffee. We support sustainability and global certifications and know that it will in turn give us better coffee each crop cycle! Please read through the organic, rainforest alliance, and fair trade sections to know the difference between the certification label being printed on the bag and truly being a certified coffee inside the bag. There’s not always truth in the labeling.

Sustainability?

The coffee is awesome now – but how about 5 years from now. Will it be more profitable if the farmer cuts down all the trees so he can plant more coffee plants – or will he receive more money for a higher quality product that is shade grown without artificial fertilizers or chemical pesticides? Will he be able to pay his workers that hand pick the ‘ripe cherries’ more and more or is it better for him to pay less and harvest green, yellow, and red cherries all in the same basket with a large cherry picker tractor. Will his soil be depleted of all its natural resources in a few crop cycles or will they be able to naturally maintain the current environment. At Dixie’s we care what is happening at our farms. We care about the people and we care about the beans they are sending us! Take Sustainability to a new level support local, Dixie’s Roasting Co... we are supporting our growers.
